Why spay your pet?

- Prevent unwanted litters of puppies & kittens

- Signficantly decrease chance of mammary cancer if spayed before 1st heat

- Prevent reproductive tract infections (including life threatening pyometra infections)

- Eliminate behaviour changes associated with when you pet is in heat

What does a spay involve?

- Removal of the entire female reproductive system (ovaries, uterus) through an abdominal incision

Castration(Neuter)

Why neuter your pet?

- Prevent unwanted litters of puppies & kittens

- Eliminate risk of testicular cancer

- Reduce risk of prostate disease

- Reduce undesirable behaviour including (roaming, aggression, humping, urine spraying)

What does a neuter involve?

- Dogs - removal of the testicles through an incision in front of the scrotum

- Cats - removal of the testicles through incisions in the scrotum
