Born and raised in Renfrew County, one would think that it was only natural for me to go into the veterinary field, when in fact, it was not until I was around 14 that I found my love for animals. Until then, I actually wanted to be an airline hostess.
I spent my weekends with my childhood friend on her stepdad's farm in a little town called Powassan, where my love of animals came to light. I would spend weekends, and eventually, summers helping around the farm with milking the cattle, looking after the calves and, of course, haying. I also spent many hours socializing the barn cats, so anytime you walked in the barn, they ran over to you for cuddles.
I started my career in veterinary medicine in 2001 when I attended St. Lawrence College, in Kingston where I received my diploma as a Veterinary Assistant. Later in 2010, I returned to school to become a technician through Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC, graduating in 2012.
Why Pinnacle? That's a good question; better yet, why not Pinnacle?! My fellow coworkers are truly amazing and incredibly supportive of each other.
Fun Fact: I used to whitewater kayak, I own a photography business and I am an avid long-distance runner.
